The Qatar Talking Archives Project (QTAP) is a project intended to extend the life of already extant oral histories made about life in Qatar. This digital archives is intended to be a place where oral history collections done over the years can be identified, made accessible, listened to again, and seen as parts of a greater whole. Oral histories have been a preferred documentation method for many people in Qatar for decades, but they are also vulnerable to technological obsolescence. We are hoping to provide a place for their continued preservation.

The first collection hosted on QTAP was part of the Swalif Collection that had its own website up until a few years ago. Sara al-Khalfan, who recorded the oral histories in 2010, has donated the recordings to QTAP in order that they continue to be heard. They will be available SOON insha'Allah! Stay tuned!
